398,630. Accumulators. BOSCH AKT.- GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. July 27, 1932, No. 21151. Convention date, Aug. 3, 1931. [Class 53.] The plates of an accumulator are separated by elastic bands 4. The bands surrounding the end plates 2 abut against the cell walls or against sheets of wood, rubber, &c. placed against the walls. The bands rest on supports 6 at the bottom of the cell and are kept in position on the plates by engaging in notches in their upper edges. The cell is closed by a cover 7 which bears on rubber washers 9 surrounding the lugs 8. Plastic composition 10 keeps the cover in position. The cover rests on ledges 11 in the cell walls and thus ensures a predetermined pressure between the bands 4 and supports 6. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a construction in which the end plates are not surrounded by elastic bands but bear directly against plates of wood &c. resting against the cell walls. It is also stated that the bands need not be endless but may be of U-shape or in the form of clips. Simple strips may also be used. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
