PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing background rise of a coloring reagent solution, when storing the coloring reagent solution in which an oxidation coloring reagent is dissolved and which is to be used for measuring a component in a sample.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for suppressing background rise of a coloring reagent solution that is generated when storing the coloring reagent solution in which an oxidation coloring reagent is dissolved and which is to be used for measuring a component in a sample. The method for suppressing the background rise of the coloring reagent solution includes an adjustment step in which a hydrogen-ion exponent (pH) of the coloring reagent solution is adjusted to be strongly acidic. Preferably, in the adjustment step, the hydrogen-ion exponent of the coloring reagent solution is adjusted to 2.9 or lower or to 2.1 or lower. Preferably, the coloring reagent solution is used for measuring an oxidation stress degree. Preferably, the oxidation coloring reagent is a phenylenediamine derivative. |
