End parts of slits (72a), (72b), (72c), and (72d) of a rotor (5), on the magnet insertion hole side, describe a triangular shape. A slit inside line (73) of the slits includes an apex (73a) and a pair of side end parts (73b, 73c). The spacings between each of the side end parts and the magnet insertion hole are greater than the spacing between the apex and the magnet insertion hole, and the spacing between the apex and the magnet insertion hole is greater than the plate thickness of a steel plate that constitutes a rotor core.
