PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device capable of effectively utilizing even a catalyst on a downstream side.SOLUTION: Modified gas flowing through a modification passage 32 is modified to fuel gas by contact to a catalyst 39. At that time, a reformer 20 is heated by combustion of a combustion part 18. In the modification passage 32, the modified gas flowing through a downstream passage 36 is more largely agitated than the modified gas flowing through an upstream passage 35. As a result, a thermal diffusion effect in a direction orthogonal to a flow of the modified gas can be improved on the downstream passage 36 than the upstream passage 35, and therefore, heat from an outer wall of the reformer 20 can be transmitted to the modified gas more efficiently in the downstream passage 36. Even when the catalyst in the downstream passage 36 is used for modifying the modified gas, the modified gas can be sufficiently heated in the downstream passage 36. That is to say, a heating characteristic can be improved in the downstream passage 36. Thus, even the catalyst on the downstream side can be effectively utilized. |
