<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing optical device which does not occupy a space between an objective lens and a second objective lens and permits a quick focusing operation for a specimen, and to provide an inverted microscope having the automatic focusing optical device.SOLUTION: An automatic focusing optical device comprises: an automatic focusing illumination optical system which irradiates a specimen with automatic focusing light through an objective lens; an automatic focusing detection optical system which detects the automatic focusing light from the specimen; and a mirror which is used in common for the automatic focusing illumination optical system and the automatic focusing detection optical system. An optical axis of the automatic focusing light comprises an optical axis along the optical axis of the objective lens and substantially parallel to the optical axis of the objective lens. Optical members of a part of the automatic focusing illumination optical system and a part of the automatic focusing detection optical system are arranged on a location separated from a revolver part. A microscope has the automatic focusing optical device.</p> |
