A hoist 40 for loading a cargo on to a trailer 10 is collapsible and removable and can be stored in the trailer. The hoist can pivot to swing the cargo on to the trailer. The hoist can have a winch with flexible webbing, cord or rope to lift the cargo on to the trailer. The hoist can be disassembled and stored in a stowing compartment at the front end of the trailer such as a locker on the A frame. The modular hoist 40 can be used to raise and lower cargo on to racking rails 20, 22. The cargo can be a motorbike, quadbike, jet ski, snow mobile or kayak. The cargo can be lifted on a transport frame 62 attached to the winch webbing by a spreader 49. The transport frame 62 is secured to the rails 20, 22 at pre-selected locations along their length. The hoist 40 is mounted on the trailer via a mounting means which can be on an outer surface or can be as a cabinet drawer. The trailer can be a camping trailer or trailer tent. |
