The method involves compensating a feedback signal (14), which is fed back from an loudspeaker (12) or a signal processor (17) to an input transducer device i.e. microphone (10). The input signal is collected directly from the microphone and provided as a difference signal between the signal from the microphone and a compensation signal. The compensation is changed or the processor is amplified in dependent upon the determined probability. An independent claim is also included for a hearing device that comprises a compensation device.
