A protective cap for a pressurised fluid cylinder valve, includes a hoop (1) defining a sheltered protected space, the lower end of the hoop (1) being welded to the generally annular base (2) that is intended to be mounted around the neck of a pressurised fluid cylinder. The hoop (1) is stamped from a metal sheet 33 and includes a protuberance 10 at the upper end. A hollow knob 4 for grasping the cap is welded on and covers the protuberance.
