<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a filter with superior performance for nonferrous molten metal by coating a metal net with one or more kinds of refractories such as silicon carbide, silicon nitridge, titanium oxide and iron oxide. CONSTITUTION:A metal net such as a stainless steel net having predetermined from is coated with a castable material consisting of one or more kinds of refractories such as silicon carbide, silicon nitride, titanium oxide and iron oxide and a binder and/or a hardening material. The resulting net is used as a filter for removing foreign matters such as solid iron, Al2O3 and refractories contained in a nonferrous molten metal such as molten Al. Since this filter shows high corrosion resistance and low wettability to molten nonferrous metal, it is hardly eroded chemically and physically. In addition, the filter receives a light impact from molten metal and has superior endurance.</p> |
