The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for selecting a menu using a plurality of keys. The apparatus for selecting the menu using the keys includes: an input unit which includes the keys sensing a touch of a user to the surface and outputs the key sensing the touch; a timer unit which senses the touch time of the surface of the input unit; and a control unit which selects a menu item of a refrigerator and controls the operation of the refrigerator based on the key outputted by the input unit and time sensed by the timer. According to the present invention, the apparatus and the method for selecting a menu using a plurality of keys reduce the number of keys installed on the refrigerator and provide user convenience without the limitation of the number of keys by allowing the selection of a plurality of rooms and various menus in the control of the refrigerator with the recognition of an operation in accordance with the pushed order of the keys arranged into a cross without a touch pad or a large number of keys.
