The present invention considers a device with an arrangement of sensors and a module for detecting and displaying the location of the partial discharge sources in power electric equipment. The invention provides an acoustic image in the three-dimensional space of the partial discharge sources by means of the analysis of acoustic signals produced by the partial discharges. The acoustic sensor arrangement considers three or more sensors concentrated in a reduced area, these may keep specific angles therebetween in the three-dimensional space. The processing of the acoustic signals considers the filtration, the correlation and the relation of the magnitudes measured by each one of the sensors. The aforementioned description reduces the processing time in two magnitude orders upon comparing its performance with the state-of-the-art products, removing sensitivity to variations in the magnitude of the detected acoustic signals. Provided is an embodiment for the inner inspection used in tran sformers and gas insulated power equipment. Included is another embodiment for the external inspection, where a video camera is integrated to a sensor arrangement for obtaining an acoustic image superposed to the video image so as to visualize the location of the external sources of partial discharge. |
