The invention discloses a method for controlling a communication window of instant messenger. The method comprises the following steps of: setting a window data storage unit to intuitively establish a mapping relation between contacts and windows; establishing a corresponding contact information storage structure under each window; managing the relation between the contacts in instant messaging currently and the currently open windows, wherein a plurality of contacts can map the same window; managing the information of all contacts under the current windows by using the contact information storage structure under the window; when the window is closed, releasing the corresponding contact information storage structure. The processing mode is simple to realize and occupies less resources. In the method, one or more tab pages under a window can be independently separated into new windows and a plurality of windows can also be combined into one window. Therefore, in the instant messenger, the information of the all contacts is stored in the contact information storage structure, and a system is inconvenient to search the data of a certain contact so as to influence searching efficiency. Due to the setting of the method, the number of the windows can be set by a user according to specific situations, not only the user is convenient to use, but also the searching efficiency of the system is improved. |
