An internal combustion engine provided with a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber, an evaporated fuel supply device for supplying evaporated fuel produced in a fuel tank to gas guided to the combustion chamber, and a control unit for controlling the fuel injection valve. When the control unit implements multiple-stage injection from the fuel injection valve, the control unit reduces the fuel injection amount of at least the first stage of injection in accordance with the evaporated fuel supply performed by the evaporated fuel supply device. |
