Ammonia is synthesized by reacting very impure mixtures of hydrogen and nitrogen, such as crude industrial gases, at pressures exceeding 1500 and preferably exceeding 2000 kg. per sq. cm. and at temperatures of 450--1200 DEG C. in the presence or not of any catalysts whatever. |
