PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit data having a resolution of n bits (m<n), without lowering the transmission efficiency, by using a packet format of fixed length common to that used for transmission of data having a resolution of m bits.SOLUTION: First generation means generates a packet having a payload of b bytes, including a plurality of first data sets for (a) pixels, from first data having image information of m bits for each pixel. Second generation means generates a packet having a payload of b bytes, including a plurality of second data sets for (a) pixels, from second data having image information of n bits for each pixel (where, m<n, a is determined so that the (n-m)×a is a multiple of 8, and b is determined based on the least common multiple of the number of bytes of the first data set for (a) pixels, and the number of bytes of the second data set for (a) pixels). |
