<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses a discharge noise generated when contact charging is performed, in which a voltage obtained by superposing an AC voltage on a DC voltage is applied to charge the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: for example, a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor 7; a cylindrical silencer 15 (cylindrical member) that is provided inside the electrophotographic photoreceptor 7 to have the outer peripheral surface in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 7, and has a running torque of 15 N m or more, which is required to be rotated relative to the circumferential direction of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 7; and a charging device 8 of a contact charging system that applies a voltage obtained by superposing an AC voltage to a DC voltage to charge the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor.</p> |
