<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper processing device and a paper processing method which are capable of improving operability of a user when the user takes out paper stored in a storage part from the storage part in the case where an error state is detected in a delivery mechanism which delivers paper from the storage part.SOLUTION: A paper processing device (e.g. loose paper money processing device) includes: a delivery mechanism (e.g. paper money delivery part 144) which delivers paper stored in a storage part (e.g. batch paper money storage 140 or each denomination-categorized paper money storage 142) from the storage part; a press member 143 which is provided in the storage part, and presses the paper stored in the storage part toward a delivery mechanism side; a press member drive part 145 which drives the press member 143; and a control part which controls the press member drive part 145 to separate the press member 143 from the paper stored in the storage part when an error state of the delivery mechanism is detected.</p> |
