<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescence sensor (2) such as, for example, a luminescence biosensor comprising a multi-layer structure.SOLUTION: A multi-layer structure comprises at least a first layer (2a) formed of first material and a second layer (2b) formed of second material. The first material has a first binding capacity to a luminescent probe and the second material has a second binding capacity to the luminescent probe, and the first binding capacity is different from the second binding capacity. A luminescence sensor (2) according to the present invention shows high sensitivity because the luminescence sensor (2) provides preferred binding sites at a location where combined efficiency of excitation and detection is the highest.</p> |
