摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device that can perform control corresponding to a magnetic pole position of a motor rotor and then drive a motor even if a motor angle detector gets out of order.SOLUTION: A motor drive device is provided with sensorless angle detection means 46 of estimating an angle of a motor rotor in a sensorless manner; and sensor fault determination means 48 of determining that a motor angle detector 36 gets out of order. Further, the motor drive device is provided with sensor switching means 49 of letting a basic drive control part 38 perform control with the output of the sensorless detection means 46 instead of an angle detection value obtained by the motor angle detector 36 when it is determined that the motor angle detector gets out of order. Furthermore, the motor drive device is provided with starting-time rotor angle calculating means 102 of calculating the angle of the motor rotor from a counter electromotive voltage of a motor 6 and letting the basic drive control part 38 perform the control based upon the calculated angle when starting the motor 6 after the motor is stopped in a state in which the sensor fault determination means 48 determines the fault.
