1. A method for diversity combining in a radio signal receiver, comprising:
receiving a transmitted signal on at least two antennas such that at least two received signal pairs exist, each received signal pair comprising a received signal distributed over a first plurality of subcarrier frequencies polarized along a first direction and a received signal distributed over the first plurality of subcarrier frequencies polarized along a second direction, wideband combining the received signals polarized along the first direction such that a first combined received signal exists that is distributed over a second plurality of subcarrier frequencies, the second plurality being smaller than the first plurality, wideband combining the received signals polarized along the second direction such that a second combined received signal exists that is distributed over the second plurality of subcarrier frequencies, and narrowband combining the first and second combined received signals such that a diversity combined signal exists.
