FIELD: measurement equipment.SUBSTANCE: method of experimental-theoretical determination of the ratio between coefficients of friction at rest fand of sliding friction fconsists in the fact that a bar of rectangular cross section made of material A, is installed onto two movable supports, made of material B. With the help of a unit-wire they provide for approach of these supports, previously on one of them they artificially cause failure of contact the bar and transition into sliding condition, while at the same time on the second support there is a fixed link preserved between contacting surfaces, and this support together with the bar as a single system moves relative to the first support. At the same time approach of supports results in variation of reaction forces value at the supports, and accordingly friction forces arising on them. Besides, on the first support the friction force of sliding as the system moves increases, while on the second support the friction force at rest is proportionately reduced. As soon as the value of both forces becomes equal, motion of the bar relative to the first support stops. At this moment the system is stopped, and the value of bar motion relative to this support is fixed. Then they calculate the value of reaction on supports and find the sought-force ration between coefficients of friction at rest and sliding friction.EFFECT: establishment of ratio C of friction coefficients of friction pair made of materials A and B, in process of a single experiment.3 cl, 3 dwg |
