1. A valve system for an inflatable portion of an indwelling medical device comprising:
a fluid passageway having a one-way valve associated therewith, said one-way valve being movable between an open position and a closed position, said open position permitting fluid to pass through said fluid passageway into the inflatable portion; and a compensator associated with said fluid passageway, said compensator permitting fluid to enter or leave said fluid passageway in response to pressure changes within said passageway caused by pressure changes in the inflatable portion of the medical device.
