<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a liquid crystal alignment layer with high productivity, by which a liquid crystal alignment layer excellent in film hardness and adhesiveness can be efficiently produced by a heat treatment at lower temperature and in a shorter time, and to provide a production method of a retardation film excellent in liquid crystal aligning property and thermal stability. <P>SOLUTION: The production method of a liquid crystal alignment layer includes steps of: (1) applying a liquid crystal aligning agent on a transparent film to form a coating film; (2) irradiating the coating film with radiation to cure the coating film; and (3) further irradiating the cured coating film with radiation to impart a liquid crystal aligning ability to the film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
