PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus excellent in antiseptic characteristics for maintenance liquid and in humidification characteristics in a cap device.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording apparatus comprises: an ejection head for ejecting an aqueous ink composition containing a resin component, a water-soluble organic solvent having a boiling point of 250°C or less, a surfactant, and water; a first cap device 40 for covering and moisturizing the ejection head; and a first maintenance liquid supply device for supplying, to the first cap device, maintenance liquid containing water and at least one kind of a water-soluble organic solvent of alkanediols having the boiling point of 250°C or less and alkylene glycol monoether derivatives having the boiling point of 250°C or less. |
