Provided is a method for recognizing a gesture of an agent as being same with a corresponding reference gesture even if the size, location, direction, and movement speed of the agent are different from a reference gesture pattern, but a moving trajectory shape thereof is same. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: inquiring a reference gesture set to be used, in a reference gesture database; attempting to expand each inquired reference gesture; moving all center points of trajectories of the reference gesture and inputted motion data to be the origins as refined motion data is inputted by a motion data refinement unit; performing the scaling on the trajectories of the reference gesture and the motion data which are processed in the previous step; rotating the trajectory of the motion data to minimize the distance of a corresponding point of the trajectory of the motion data with respect to each point of the trajectory of the reference gesture which is processed in the previous step; and calculating the distance between the trajectories of the reference gesture and the motion data which are processed in the previous step, and outputting a gesture recognition result based on the calculated result. |
