PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a crystal oscillating piece, by which symmetry of the crystal oscillating piece can be maintained.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes a step for forming a crystal oscillating piece 1A coupled to a frame 2 through a coupling piece 3A by applying etching processing to a crystal substrate W and a step for separating the crystal oscillating piece 1A from the coupling piece 3A by breaking the crystal oscillating piece 1A from the coupling piece. In the step for applying the etching processing to the crystal substrate W, an acute angle section 5 in which angles of corner parts 4a, 4b are smaller than 90° is formed in the vicinity of a position on which a center line O of the crystal oscillating piece 1A passes or a position approximately symmetrical through the center line O of the crystal oscillating piece 1A.
