PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress stratification by more effectively utilizing an agitation action of an electrolyte due to gas generated during charging.SOLUTION: A lead acid battery 100 includes: an electrode plate group 2 comprising a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate and a separator; a flowable electrolyte 3; and a battery case 4 housing the electrode plate group and the electrolyte. In the lead acid battery, the battery case 4 includes: a housing space S1 housing the electrode plate group 2; and a communication passage S2 provided separately from the housing space S1 and communicating between the upper part and the lower part of the housing space S1. |
