A liquid crystal display device comprises a backlight module (10), a liquid crystal panel (30), a color filter (40) and a controller (60). The backlight module (10) comprises a light guide plate (12) with a light incident surface (122) and a light emergent surface (124), a plurality of white LEDs (16) and a plurality of blue LEDs (18). The white LEDs (16) and the blue LEDs (18) all face the light incident surface (122). Each white LED (16) comprises a blue light chip (162) for emitting blue light and fluorescent powder (166) excited by blue light. Each blue LED (18) comprises a blue light chip (182). The liquid crystal panel (30) is opposite to the light emergent surface (124). The color filter (40) is opposite to the liquid crystal panel (30). The color filter (40) comprises a red color resistance (R) only allowing red light to pass, a green color resistance (G) only allowing green light to pass and a transparent color resistance (T) allowing light of any color to pass. The controller (60) is used for controlling each white LED (16) and the corresponding blue LED (18) to turn on in time sequence and emit light passing through the light guide plate (12), the liquid crystal panel (30) and the color filter (40) to form a first frame of image (a) and a second frame of image (b) according to an input signal, and the controller (60) is used for controlling an optical valve in the liquid crystal panel (30) to form images. The first frame of image (a) and the second frame of image (b) are superposed to form a full-color image. |
