本发明提供一种可使对基板的涂布性、涂膜的耐摩擦性及液晶显示元件的残像特性均良好的液晶配向剂。本发明的液晶配向剂含有在主链上具有下述式(1)所表示的部分结构的聚合物(P)。;W 1 及W 2 为在环骨架具有苯环、环己烷环等的2价环状基;X 1 为单键、-O-、-COO-、-CO-等;X 2 为-O-、-COO-、-CO-等;R 1 为单键、碳数1~20的烷二基等;R 2 为单键、-COO-、碳数1~5的烷二基等;p为0~2的整数;p=0时,W 1 的环骨架不为苯环;在W 1 及W 2 均为经取代或未经取代的伸苯基的情况下,R 1 不为单键。;W 1 and W 2 are bivalent cyclic groups having a benzene ring, a cyclohexane ring and so on in a cyclic skeleton; X 1 is a single bond, -O-, -COO-, -CO- and so on; X 2 is -O-, -COO-, -CO- and so on; R 1 is a single bond, an alkanediyl group having 1 to 20 carbons and so on; R 2 is a single bond, -COO-, an alkanediyl group having 1 to 5 carbons and so on; p is an integer of 0 to 2; when p=0, the cyclic skeleton of W 1 is not a benzene ring; R 1 is not a single bond in a condition that W 1 and W 2 are both phenylene groups which are substituted or not substituted. |
