摘要 An image processing apparatus, an imaging apparatus, an image processing method, and a computer program are provided to apply a multiplication coefficient according to an exposure compensation value with plural steps to input image data to generate pseudo signal components acquired by adjusting the exposure amount of an input image, thereby optimizing a brightness range according to the brightness distribution of lighting components. An exposure compensation value acquisition unit acquires an exposure compensation value with plural steps for an exposure control value in imaging input image data. A lighting component generator generates lighting components on the basis of the input image data. A gain amount calculation unit(24) multiplies each of plural weight coefficients by a multiplication coefficient according to the exposure compensation value corresponding to the each of the weight coefficients and adds the multiplied value to the exposure compensation value to calculate a gain amount. The weight coefficients is set as many as the number of the steps of the exposure compensation value and is set for the sum of the exposure coefficients to be one in pixels in the same position according to the brightness of the pixels of the lighting components in the same position. A gain application unit applies the gain amount calculated by the gain calculation unit to each pixel on the input image data.
