<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely adjust toner density for a developing means by securing toner replenishing time. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit reads the toner replenishing time at previous printing of each color (S11), controls an exposure device and a developing device so as to form a reference patch of a color requiring the short toner replenishing time (S12), and detects the density of the reference patch through a density sensor (S13).
