摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic charge image development having less odor and superior performance in image quality, or the like, in a method for manufacturing the toner for electrostatic charge image development by a wet polymerization method, such as suspension polymerization method or emulsion polymerization aggregation method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrostatic charge image development that uses wet polymerization method is such that a compound expressed by general Formula (1): (R<SP>1</SP>)<SB>n</SB>-Ar-SH or general Formula (2): (R<SP>1</SP>)<SP>n</SP>-Ar-R<SP>2</SP>-SH is used as a chain transfer agent used for the polymerization method. In the general Formula (1) and the general Formula (2), Ar represents an aromatic ring; R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an electron-donating group, when n is 1; and when, n is 2 or larger, R<SP>1</SP>s represent electron donating groups which may be identical or different from each other; R<SP>2</SP>represents an alkylene group which may have a side chain; and n represents an integer of 1 or larger.
