<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining an angular position of a rotor of a rotating electric machine. <P>SOLUTION: A set of stator windings is short-circuited by a converter unit for at least three presettable times (T0, T1, T2) of short circuits within the rotation of a rotor at an assumed speed of a prescribed rotor. Next, phase angles (α<SB>T0</SB>, α<SB>T1</SB>and α<SB>T2</SB>) of respective stator currents (i<SB>ST0</SB>, i<SB>ST1</SB>and i<SB>ST2</SB>) are determined for each of times (T0, T1 and T2)of short circuits, and phase angle differences (Δi<SB>1</SB>, Δi<SB>2</SB>) are formed from phase angles (α<SB>T0</SB>, α<SB>T1</SB>and α<SB>T2</SB>) determined in respective times of two adjacent short circuits on a time basis. Next, a minimum phase angle difference (Δi<SB>min</SB>) is determined from these phase angle differences (Δi<SB>1</SB>, Δi<SB>2</SB>), and in the case of a negative minimum phase angle difference (Δi<SB>min</SB>), the correction (Δi<SB>c</SB>) of a phase angle is added to the phase difference (α<SB>T2</SB>) determined in the most recent time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
