PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing the curling of a recording sheet. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a heating roller 2 which is rotationally driven; an endless belt 3 which is pressed to the heating roller 2 by a pressure contact roller 9 arranged on an inner side to hold the recording sheet S therebetween; and a support roller 8 which is arranged on an inner side of the endless belt 3, and stretches the endless belt 3 in such a manner that the downstream side of a nip N of the endless belt 3 makes an angle of≥90°with the tangent direction of the heating roller 2 facing the rear end of the pressure contact roller 9. The support roller 8 is rotationally driven so as to make its outer peripheral speed greater than the outer peripheral speed of the heating roller 2, thereby changing the tension force T of the endless belt 3 by the support roller 8 according to the kind of the recording sheet S and the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere in such a manner that the conveyance force Fr on the endless belt 3 is smaller than the conveyance force Fh on the endless belt 3 of the heating roller 2.
