PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method of measuring a thermal constant using a laser flash method capable of measuring accurately the thermal constant of a diathermic material. SOLUTION: The measuring method of the thermal constant using the laser flash method for measuring a thermal diffusivity, a Biot number, and a diathermancy coefficient of the diathermic material wherein part of heat energy of laser light with which the surface is irradiated reaches directly the backside has a first step wherein the sample 11 surface is irradiated with the laser light, and a temperature change of the backside of the sample 11 is measured, to thereby determine backside temperature change data; and a second step wherein theoretical backside temperature change data acquired from a backside temperature theoretical expression including the thermal diffusivity, the Biot number, and the diathermancy coefficient showing a heat transfer quantity of direct heat energy from the surface to the backside of the sample 11, of the diathermic material, and showing a theoretical change with time of the backside temperature of the sample 11 when the sample 11 surface is irradiated with the laser light is compared with the backside temperature change data, to thereby determine the thermal diffusivity, the Biot number, and the diathermancy coefficient.
