PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel door which has a door body formed of a pair of obverse and reverse integral metallic face plates, wherein the face plates are combined together in one piece without employing a unifying means such as welding. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the steel door, the pain of obverse and reverse face plates 3, 4 are fitted to each other in a lateral direction by a slide-fitting section SC consisting of a front face plate slide-fitting piece 3i and a rear face plate slide-fitted recess 4h, at a door leading side. On the other hand the obverse and reverse face plates are press-fitted to each other in a thickness direction by a press-fitting section PC consisting of a front face plate press-fitted recess 3n and a rear face plate press-fitting piece 4i, at a door end side.
