A display device and its manufacturing method are provided to satisfy predetermined characteristics required of each thin film transistor by forming a plurality of thin film transistors with a discrete structure using a discrete method. A display device includes an image display unit and a driving unit. The image display unit includes a first thin film transistor. The driving unit is formed at a peripheral portion of the image display unit. The driving unit includes a second thin film transistor. The first and the second transistors include first and second semiconductors(154a,154b), respectively. The first and the second semiconductors are formed at predetermined layers different from each other. The first semiconductor contains an amorphous semiconductor and the second semiconductor contains a polycrystalline semiconductor.
