PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a cylinder injection internal combustion engine for preventing deterioration in combustion caused by the fuel injection of a compression stroke of the internal combustion engine, improving an operation feeling, and further improving fuel consumption by expanding an operation area by the fuel injection of the compression stroke. SOLUTION: This control device of the internal combustion engine can operate by switching a compression stroke injection mode and an intake stroke injection mode, and has a next operation mode determining means for selecting an operation mode of recovering combustion stability while maintaining the compression stroke injection mode and an operation mode of recovering the combustion stability by being switched to the intake stroke injection mode, when a combustion-deteriorated state is detected in the compression stroke injection mode.
