SOLUTION: A battery 38 and a turning electric motor 39 are connected to a generator 33 via an electric power controller 37. Electric energy is mutually given and received between these members. The electric power controller 37 is connected with a mode selecting means 41 capable of switching a turning speed of a turning part driven by the turning electric motor 39 in a plurality of stages to an operation quantity of a turning operation lever 43. The generator 33 and a hydraulic pump 34 are driven by an engine 31, and when compositely performing boom raising operation with the hydraulic pump 34 as a driving source and turning operation of the turning part with the electric energy from the generator 33 or the battery 38 as a driving source, the turning speed of the turning part can be switched in the plurality of stages.
