<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the predictive efficiency of a chrominance component and to improve the encoding efficiency accordingly. <P>SOLUTION: When a reference destination field is a Bottom field and an original image field is a Top field, let a luminance motion vector indicating the vertical displacement of one luminance pixel of a field image by the value "4" of the vector component as units be MVy and the chrominance motion vector indicating the vertical displacement of one chrominance pixel of a field image by the value "8" of the vector component as units be MVCy, then the motion picture encoding method generates the chrominance component motion vector from the luminance component motion vector on the basis of the calculation expressed in MVCy=MVy-2, or when both the reference filed and the original image field are the Top fields or the Bottom fields, the motion picture encoding method generates the chrominance component motion vector from the luminance component motion vector on the basis of the calculation expressed in MVCy=MVy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
