PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass capable of preventing sunlight from entering from a window and particularly diminishing the incident intensity of the sunlight when it is hot in summer season, thereby preventing the temperature of a room from rising, and to provide a method for producing the glass. SOLUTION: The glass has a glass plate and a reflection layer containing flat plate-shaped particles and a matrix polymer, which is provided on the glass plate. The total light transmittance of the glass is 40-80%, and it is preferable that the reflectance of light having a wavelength of 400-700 nm is 20-50% on the surface of the reflection layer of the glass and the flat plate-shaped particles are formed from synthetic mica.
