A plasma display apparatus is provided to prevent an erroneous operation of a data drive IC(Integrated Circuit) by minimizing a sustain discharge current, which is input to the data drive IC. A plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel, scan and sustain drivers, and a sustain pulse controller. The plasma display panel includes plural scan and sustain electrodes. The scan and sustain drivers drive the scan and sustain electrodes, respectively. The sustain pulse controller controls at least one of the scan and sustain drivers so as to supply at least one of first sustain pulses having different applying time to at least two scan electrode groups(Ya,Yb) including one or more of the scan electrodes and at least one of second sustain pulses having different applying time to at least two sustain electrode groups(Za,Zb) including one or more of the sustain electrodes.
