<p>A portable electronic device and a mobile communication terminal, whose surface temperature does not increase while being charged regardless of the type of a charger for charging a storage battery being mounted therein. When a cell-phone unit, which has a radio section being a heat source and operates with a battery pack mounted therein as a power source, is connected to an external power feeder with the battery pack being mounted, the battery pack is charged by current from the external power feeder. When the battery pack is charged while the radio section is operating, the value of the charging current to charge the battery pack is reduced less than that when the radio section is not operating.
