PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for detecting tilting of a trough with high accuracy without being influenced by temperature and dust. SOLUTION: Trough load is measured in a lowermost position of an annular track descending in a curve at an ore discharge part, and a measured value and a preset threshold of load are compared. In the case of satisfying the measured value≥the threshold, it is determined that the trough is tilted, and in the case of satisfying the measured value < the threshold, it is determined that the trough is not tilted.
