PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the lifetime of an address driver for applying a voltage to address electrodes in a plasma display device wherein plasma discharges are conducted between substrates facing each other to perform display control. SOLUTION: In the plasma display device wherein a front-side substrate and a rear-side substrate are disposed in opposition to each other and sustain electrodes and address electrodes orthogonal to each other are formed on the front-side substrate, an AC pulse is applied to a sustain electrode while fixing a potential of an address electrode to which an address pulse for selecting a cell caused to emit light is applied, in a sustain period when light emission of the cell is kept.
