<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of estimating input earthquake motion capable of estimating easily and precisely the input earthquake motion. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, earthquake motion waveforms in a proper depth of a ground surface or a subsurface layer are prepared based on a plurality of analytical methods, using a disclosed earthquake motion waveform data on a bedrock face, and the proper earthquake motion waveform is selected out of the prepared earthquake motion waveform to estimate the input earthquake motion. The plurality of analytical methods include at least a linear analytical method for dealing with a material characteristic of the subsurface layer linearly, and an equivalent linear analytical method of taking distortion dependency of the subsurface layer into consideration, and a nonlinear analytical method based on a hysteresis expressing a relation between a stress and a strain in the subsurface layer. The earthquake motion waveform prepared based on the nonlinear analytical method is estimated as the input earthquake motion as an example, when the disclosed earthquake waveform data on the bedrock face is earthquake waveform data of prescribed scale or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
