PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a yield upon the production of high purity sponge titanium by a Kroll process. SOLUTION: Sponge titanium stuck to the surface of a gate 2 in a reduction reaction vessel 1 by the last time reaction is physically removed upon next reaction. Preferably, physical removal is performed regarding sponge titanium stuck to the inside face of the reduction reaction vessel 1 together with the sponge titanium stuck to the surface of the rooster 2.
