PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physiologically active substance fixation method for orienting physiologically active substances such as various proteins in a specific direction while stably and firmly fixing them on a surface of a substrate, and to provide a biosensor with physiologically active substances stably and firmly fixed thereon. SOLUTION: Physiologically active substances are fixed on a substrate surface by using a metal ligand having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic structure and a metal complex made of metal ions, preferably of transition metal ions. A relation, n-m>0, is preferable, when assuming that the coordination number of metal ions is n and the number of coordination groups of the metal ligand is m. Further, it is preferable that the active substances have a ligand capable of coordinating with the metal ions, such as an oligohistidine group. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
