<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing on-site gas capable of producing a fully quality-assured gas, and to provide a gas production and sale system using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The gas production apparatus comprises a raw material supply device 1, a production device 2, a purification device 3, and a quality assurance device 4, wherein these devices are arranged in series in this order so that produced gas can be supplied to a consuming device 5. First, a raw material is supplied to the production device 2 through the raw material supply device 1, or the raw material is stored in the raw material supply device 1 and then supplied to the production device 2 from the same. The gas generated in the production device 2 is sent to the purification device 3 and highly purified by removing impurities. The highly-purified gas is sent to the quality assurance device 4 and analyzed for the impurity concentration in the gas. The analysis result is fed back to the production device 2 as necessary for the quality assurance of the gas.
