PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a video recording regenerating device whose recording capacity is large, that the number of recorded television programs in the video recording regenerating device increases while being used, and that it takes a lot of time and effort to perform the work of finding out a TV program which a user wants to view from among unviewed programs. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a regeneration information recording means 106 for recording a regeneration time zone when a recorded TV program is regenerated; a direction means 108 for giving directions to display recommended TV programs; a totalizing-for-each-attribute means 103 for comparing and collating time of directions given by the direction means 108 with a regeneration time zone of each recorded TV program having been regenerated in the past, selecting recorded TV programs in a regeneration time zone comprising the directions time from among those recorded programs, and totalizing those selected recorded TV programs for each genre; and a recommended TV program display means 104 for selecting recorded TV programs being in a genre to which a larger number of TV programs belong and not having been regenerated yet on the basis of that totalization result, and displaying them as recommended TV programs.
